CREATIVE BRIEF: Create a three tier gift package to thank community partners for their generosity to Highlands College. Each gift box must be within the in the $50 range (if 75 ordered, $3,750 total budget). Gifts must feel elevated and cohesive as well as be easily mailed or transported.
After doing extensive research on different gift options, I developed a framework for each partner tier that would allow for the gifts to build upon each other based on the generosity of the partner. I wanted all of my packages to fit in a 13x10x5 mailer box, which would help cut down costs as more items could be bought in bulk.
The corner piece of this project was finding a customizable envelope that could hold meaningful messaging and gifts for the receiving partner. This envelope allowed me to include a space for a student thank you, the college's theme verse, and a higher end leather bookmark with the college lockup stamped on. Once I realized the versatility of using the envelope, I developed the following flat lays for the team to see the progression of packages for each tier:
After working the team and making some adjustments, I was able to move in the design phase of this project. Everything needed to stay within the Highlands College brand while also feeling appropriately elevated.
I ultimately went with a mostly red color palette, as this is the dominant color in the college's branding. To elevate it, I added accents of our house script font and subtle textures to the design. Altogether, I feel that these pieces create a cohesive and structured foundation for these gifts to be put together.
